METALLICA Hoax Perpetrators UNFAITH Seek Help Naming Song
October 13, 2003Canadian band UNFAITH, best known for orchestrating a METALLICA lawsuit hoax that flooded radio stations and web sites in mid-July before being exposed as a well-executed scam (story#1, story#2, story#3, story#4),have posted an as-yet-untitled new track on their web site. "We're asking our fans — and anyone else with a few minutes to kill — to help us name it," UNFAITH singer/songwriter Erik Ashley told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "An MP3 version & lyric sheet are provided on our website for anyone who'd be interested in lending an ear.
"We'd love to get as many suggestions as we can, and by proxy help expose the song — so any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated, as we are still independent and are grateful for any exposure we can muster.
"We've nothing to sell anyone — this is strictly to get the word out, foster a buzz, and allow everyday people a chance to participate in the creative process!"
Described as an "alternative pop project," UNFAITH are based out of Montreal and feature Ashley alongside collaborator/guitarist Pierre-Leon Trépanier.
